COURSES & RESOURCES: PLAYER WELFARE TRAINING FIRST AID & IMMEDIATE CARE

High quality coaching, officiating and first aid/immediate care all contribute to reduce the risk of injury and provide a safe playing environment. Therefore, it is important that individuals keep up to date with training specific to their role and have access to generalinformation about safe practice both on and off the pitch.

The RFU Training Course Booklet

The RFU Training Course Booklet provides an overview of all the courses available for coaches, match officials, First Aiders, Health Care Professionals and other volunteers.

Clubs, Schools, Colleges & Universities

Clubs, schools, colleges and universities should be aware that there are different levels of training required to provide first aid and immediate care cover. They should ensure that Minimum Operating Standards for first aid provision are in place and that additional requirements may be needed depending on the level, type and format of rugby being played and the facilities available. A specific first aid risk assessment should be carried out to determine if any further provision is required.

The Being a RugbySafe Club and Being a RugbySafe School/College pages provide more information on Minimum Operating, Standards, Risk Assessments and how to access discounted equipment.

First Aid Courses – General Information
