Game this Weekend: Bishop’s Stortford v Chinnor (National 1)
What is your favourite refereeing memory?
“Running out on the hallowed turf at Twickenham was a highly privileged experience. Though, meeting people through refereeing that become some of your best pals enables extra memories to be made!”
Why should anybody get into refereeing?
“An excellent way to stay in the game; improve your knowledge as a player, tactics as a coach or even a more informed rugby spectator. There’s something for everyone!”

The England Rugby Women’s Match Official Development Group (WMODG) is designed to provide continuous training opportunities and preparation for female match officials with a view for participation in the female professional game, 2025 RWC and beyond.
The group is made up of a small group of female match officials (on-field and off-field) who operate throughout the community game who aspire, and have the potential, to be involved in all elements of the refereeing pathway.
With the awarding of RWC 2025, and the changing landscape of both the men’s and women’s game, the England Rugby Women’s Match Official Performance Group will form a vital link and pathway between our members, the RFU Referee Societies (and where collaborating, federations) and the NLMOT.
