Cox took charge of Wasps’ match at the Ricoh Arena with Northampton Saints on a weekend where four different women took senior roles in the Premiership Rugby Cup. She is the RFU’s first centrally-contracted female referee and became the first woman to referee a game in the Greene King IPA
Championship back in March. She was the woman in the middle at Coventry on another breakthrough weekend for women in rugby.

In addition to Cox refereeing at the Ricoh, Claire Hodnett was the Television Match Official in the same weekend’s live TV game as Harlequins took on Newcastle Falcons at the Twickenham Stoop in front of the BT Sport cameras.

And on the Friday night, Clare Daniels was an assistant referee in Bristol Bears’ encounter  with Gloucester Rugby at Ashton Gate, with Danae Zamboulis in the role of citing officer at Leicester Tigers v Worcester Warriors.
